Titleist just released the limited-edition T-Series Black Vapor irons — the T100, T150, T250 and T350 models you already know, dipped in a pitch-black Titanium Carbide Vapor finish. Same tour-proven tech underneath. Completely different energy at address.
If you've ever looked down at a chrome iron on a sunny day and squinted like you were staring into an eclipse, this release is for you.
What Actually Changed
Here's the honest version: the performance didn't. These are the same current-generation T-Series heads — same construction, same fitting logic. What's new is the finish. Titleist uses a vapor-deposition process (PVD, if you want to sound smart at the range) that bonds a titanium carbide coating to the head. The result is a deep black finish that's built to resist smudges, fingerprints, and bag chatter — the usual ways black clubs go from "stealth" to "scuffed" in one season.
The blacked-out treatment runs through the whole setup too: matte black shafts and blackout grips complete the look. Titleist also dropped matching Vokey SM11 Black Vapor wedges with gold accents, if you want the full shadow build.
Which One Is for You?
T100 — the tour blade-ish one. Precision and feel for players who flush it.
T150 — T100's slightly friendlier sibling. A touch bigger, a little faster, still compact. If you're a good ball-striker who wants a small margin for error, this is the sweet spot.
T250 — the players-distance pick. Hollow-body speed and forgiveness that doesn't look like a shovel. Probably the right call for most golfers reading this.
T350 — maximum launch, maximum forgiveness, maximum "I just want the ball in the air." No shame. Golf is hard.
Fun fact: Cameron Smith — yes, the mullet, yes, the Open champ — has been asking Titleist for black irons for years. He says the dark finish makes the head look smaller and sharpens his focus behind the ball. If it's good enough for one of the best short games on earth, it's good enough for your Saturday four-ball.
Price & Availability
Black Vapor irons run about $285 per club in steel ($299 graphite) — roughly $2,000 for a set — and they're a limited edition. Pre-sales are live now, with clubs hitting shops worldwide on July 23. Limited runs of black Titleist gear have a habit of disappearing, so if you're in, don't overthink it.
